ImagesOfTheJourney > In the basement of the ossuary in Verdun France lie the co-mingled bones of both German and French soldiers. The ossuary is about 2 football fields long by one wide and the entire basement is fill to the depth of at least a metre with bones. Some are scattered like these and some are stacked neatly. World War One was about as brutal as it came and even more stupid. An enormous failure of imagination and greed by those that sold weapons.
